FOLLOW FRIDAY: CHUCK EDITION!
Since it’s only fitting. So here’s my little story. I met my first Tumblr friends through Chuck, who coincidentally were my first internet friendships as well, relationships that have proven to be incredibly important to me. I was a late-comer to the fandom, getting into just after the third season started airing and catching up quick.
I remember distinctly the thing that tipped the scales was Asra (miss you! If you read this!) and her pre-S3 posting, or more specifically the end of Colonel’s hand porn. I spammed her inbox (those were new back then) incessantly through the whole thing. And I fell hard for this show. It had everything I loved about fiction and television. Good music, exciting plots, a mix of genres, hashed out friendships, family love (!!!), hand sex, unrequited love, powerful ladies, lots of guns!
Then it came to meeting all these wonderful people. The people who were also possibly belting out ‘Down River’ at the top of their lungs in their rooms across the world and making hilarious Wood jokes and voting till your fingers hurt because of those damn captchas and sitting for hours at the computer just to get some word of the SDCC panel and running a crazy fanblog (or 4…) along with me and following all of my insane mod rules or following cast member’s Twitters/livestreams/twitpics like they were crack or encouraging my JoGo situation (aka catering to my JoGo situation…)
For those ridiculous times, I thank you guys and will love you always, show or no show. [ I did my best to include anyone I met through the fandom in this list (even if it’s in some obscure way or I stalk you from afar), apologies if anyone is missing ]

Aces, guys. You’re aces.
KATHLEEN!!!! I know I haven’t talked about Chuck in a while and I haven’t exactly kept on top of this season, but this show means so much to me for so many reasons. I’m sad to see it go, but I’m so glad it had such a nice run and got to go out on its own terms. I have made so many incredible friends because of this show, specifically Heather who….well, let’s just say we went a little crazy the week before Colonel and bonded in the depths of our insanity. We’re super close now for so many more reasons than television, but it really all started with a promo of Chuck and Sarah making out on a bed. (Man, remember that giant gif of the promo? I wonder if I still have that….) It’s not just Heather though, it’s so many of those awesome ladies that Kathleen listed up there. This has always been an amazing fandom to be a part of, so incredibly supportive of this show that genuinely needed the support. Well, except for those Dark Days after Mask, I’m pretty sure Heather stopped me from setting my tv on fire quite a few times. BUT THAT IS ALL IN THE PAST. What matters most is all of these amazing friendships I now have and it’s all because of this stupid little show that I will forever be grateful for.
